The median hourly salary for electricians was $22.32 in May 2008. The middle 50% earned between $17.00 and $29.88, the lowest 10% earned $13.54 and the highest 10% earned $38.18.

Apprentices pay start at 30% to 50% of a fully trained electrician depending on experience. As apprentices become more skilled, their pay will periodically increase.
